Underwater Museum at Cape Tarkhankut

About a hundred meters off the coast at Cape Tarhankut , the westernmost business office of Crimea , at a depth of a x to twelve meters is a unique museum of sculptures. The underwater museum has unopen to fifty sculptures too busts of one-time Soviet leaders including Lenin , Stalin , too Marx , every bit good every bit replicas of some of the world’s iconic attraction such every bit the Eiffel Tower of Paris too London's Tower Bridge.

The museum , too thence called the "Alley of Leaders" , was created inwards 1992 yesteryear scuba diver Vladimir Broumenskyy , a native of Donetsk. The Soviet Union had only collapsed too at that spot was an excess of broken statues too busts of communist leaders that the eclectic crowds had pulled downwards from their pedestals. Some of those went to Moscow where it became “Park of the Fallen Heroes”. Vladimir Broumenskyy gathered a few too took them alongside him to Cape Tarhankut where he sunk them into the sea. The underwater museum has been growing e'er since alongside novel exhibits , too existence located at an already pop scuba diving site , the museum has never complained well-nigh lack of visitors.
